What is a Cozy Mystery? A genre of mystery novels, tv shows, movies that are generally situated in small communities and mysteries are solved by amateur sleuths, often every day common folks who just have a knack for sniffing out solutions! Think Jane Marple from the fictional village of St. Mary Mead, an unassuming elderly lady, who by observation and information she gleaned from her neighbors and friends, could solve mysteries that stumped the police! Cozy mysteries abhor explicit sexual content although light romance is often part of the story. Think The Thin Man movie series from the 40's with Nick and Nora Charles and their adorable dog, Asta! Also, graphic killing scenes are not part of this genre either. These stories will not give you nightmares but you may stay up all night engrossed in a fascinating story till the end!
